A historic copper forge in Ronco Canavese has been converted into an interactive museum. The exhibition system is the project itself, with the original architecture left intact.
Rather than covering up the existing architecture, the layout works with it. The visitor routes are designed so that the accessible and standard paths follow the same sequence of rooms, taking in the history of the valley, the products of the forge, and the forge itself.
I developed the concept and exhibition layout, creating a set of regulatory drawings for the accessible visitor routes. I then carried the scheme through to detailed design in coordination with the engineering team. Visualisations were produced as part of the design process to present the project to the municipality.
