Colour plays a structural role here. Running from the walls onto the ceilings, it marks out walking spaces and storage areas, holding a 130 sqm flat together in a 1930s building in central Turin. Full-height sliding panels allow the rooms to open up or close off. Inside the new interior, the original features of the building, such as the handrail and lift doors, remain in place.
I developed the concept and explored various material options, creating visualisations that presented each combination alongside the others, enabling informed decisions to be made before construction began.
